THE CURSED CHAMBER

Almost every city and state in India has its own mysterious place. In fact, India is known as the land of mystery. There is a temple, Padmanabhaswamy Temple, in the state of Kerala which is one of these mysterious places.

This temple is located in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. It is a Hindu temple built in the name of Lord Vishnu. In the heart of the temple, that is the Shri Kovil, is situated a huge deity of Lord Vishnu where he lies on Sheshnaag in the Ananthasayanam where the word Anantha means unending and the word Sayanamn means lying down.

The nine entrances of this temple indicate the nine apertures of the human body.
The Temple consists of 6 vaults. A , B , C , D , E and F. The doors were made up of iron. It is said that the Kings of Travancore had hidden there treasures in these vaults.
In 2011 these treasures were unearthed from vaults A, D, C, E, and F . These treasures consisted of gold, silver, diamonds precious gemstones like emeralds, Rubies, and Sapphires. The treasures found in these vaults estimate up to 90,000 crore which translates to almost $22 billion. The treasures have never been used. They’re only taken out during ceremonies and are put back in the moment the rituals are done.

Even today, no one is able to open vault B. This vault consists of 3 doors one was made up of wood, the other of iron, and this iron door has two large snakes engraved on it. As if they were made to guard this vault. Every possible way was been tried to open this vault but all in vain. This door is still remained sealed.  It is said that the snakes engraved on this door say that anybody who tries to open this door will soon die. On 18th July 2011, the advocate who helped to open these vaults fell sick and died.

It is said that this vault B is sealed with the help of some mantras that as the Ashtanag Bandh mantra. No one has any idea about this mantra and what it entails. Many people believe that whoever tries to open this vault has died or something bad has happened to it.  It is said that only a great saint who is a devotee of Lord Vishnu can open the door by chanting the Garuda mantra.

In 2004, the Indian Ocean Tsunami struck and the entire state of Tamil Nadu was underwater, only the Padmanabha Swamy Temple was safe and secure. Not one of those waves touched this temple.
